This book is pure action the entire way through, and Salvatore is able to keep some mystery in the book and reveal things in unpredictable ways. Post book 16, Jarlaxle and his trickery successfully opened Entreri's heart again, and while he has learned to love, the weight of his conscience and sorrows is immense, and he is still quick to be guarded, but is surprisingly empathetic to those in terrible plights. I know these characters through discussion but I only recently got into these books. Fans of the novel like how Entreri seemed like a straightforward villain when first introduced, but has evolved over time. He picks out clothes that are the brightest of colors and has a cape that shines in each of the visible and infrared spectrums.
